Kitchen Bar Counter Determine The Dimensions Correctly
The depth of your counter will depend on how you plan to use it.
If you are using it for eating, you will need a depth of at least 40 cm (16 inches).
If you are using it for working, you will need a depth of at least 60 cm (24 inches).
The overhang of your counter is the amount of counter that extends beyond the base cabinets.
However, you can adjust this amount depending on your needs. For example
if you have small children, you may want a smaller overhang to prevent them from falling off the stools.

The width of your counter will depend on how many people you plan to seat at it.
A good rule of thumb is to allow 60 cm (24 inches) of space per person.
If you want to be able to seat people on both sides of the counter, you will need a wider counter.
